Nestled within the inner-city suburb of Herston in Brisbane, Ballymore Kindy has been a welcome space for children to thrive since 1973. As a single-unit centre, our learning environment is calm, engaging and rich in opportunity. We have a large, shaded outdoor environment and a versatile indoor space where your child's interests can flourish. We believe that play is essential to early childhood learning and support the development of key competencies like attention, memory, language and literacy, program-solving and creativity.
Ballymore Kindy operates during school terms and offers two class groups for pre-prep children each week.

Play-based learning led by experienced teachers
At Ballymore Kindergarten and Preschool, your child can enjoy learning, playing and growing with the same group of children led by the same teachers all day, every kindy day. Led by Director and Teacher Emily Clark, our experienced and dedicated teaching team foster a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where children are valued as unique individuals. Our Assistant Teachers, Karen Curling and Yvonne Matthews, have both taught at the Centre for more than a decade.
Ballymore Kindy's educational program is an Approved Kindergarten Program by the Queensland Government and rates as "Exceeding National Quality Standards" in our National Improvement Plan (NIP).
Children can participate in a kindergarten program in the year before they commence Prep. Children must be 4 years old by June 30 to participate in a Queensland Government subsidised kindergarten program such as Ballymore Kindergarten. (see table below).
Secure your child's kindy place
Balllymore Kindy is a not-for-profit pre-prep Education centre for children aged 3.5 yrs to 4.5 yrs. You can register your child for a place from birth.
There are two groups to choose from:
Monday and Tuesdays (8.30am to 4.00pm)
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (8.30am to 2.30pm)
Both groups attend during Qld State School terms only - 10 weeks per term

Ballymore Kindergarten and Preschool Fees
Ballymore Kindy is an approved Queensland Government kindergarten provider under the Queensland Government Kindy Funding Scheme.

How to enrol your child:
1. Complete the enrolment application form
2. Pay the $20.00 applicatoin fee (non-refundable)
3. Receive confirmation of application
Places are offered by date of application and payment. Enrolment offers being in the June prior to the school year's commencement. Ballymore Kindy continues to offer places until both groups are full.
Please note that we have a lengthy waiting list for 2024 so contact us by phone or email prior to sending through an application for 2024. As at 22.01.24 our groups have filled for 2024 and it is highly unlikely we would be able to offer you a place for 2024.
